A view to dining foron December 3, 2014
Every year the Nedbank Golf Challenge aims to enhance the fan experience with several innovations around “Africa’s Major”. And one of the new experiences this year is a unique dining experience for golf fans and their families.
Skyview promises an “unforgettable dining experience” and “the ultimate sports box with mesmerising views of Sun City”.
From 4-7 December on the Cabanas Lawns behind the 18th green, the massive Skyview crane will be hoisting 22 guests at a time 40 metres in the air to watch the golf from a birds-eye view while enjoying delicious food and drinks.
A team of professionals will cater to every need, and it’s perfectly safe. Guests are secured into their seats with a safety harness and the entire table with diners is lifted into the air.
A team on the ground then uses the attached ropes to slowly rotate the table, giving you a 360° view of Sun City.
But the most sought-after view this week will be the one over the Gary Player Country Club course, especially the 18th green. It’s arguably the best seat in the house from which to watch the final putt drop on Sunday afternoon.
The dining options include a 60-minute (excluding lift time) breakfast experience from 8h00 to 9h30 at R530 per person. Or you can enjoy a 60-minute lunch from 11h00 to 12h30 at R530 per person. Then there’s a 30-minute drinks and snacks option at 17h00 for R300 per person. And a 60-minute 2-course dinner from 18h00 to 19h30 will cost R530 per person.
You can book through Computicket or directly at the Skyview site.
