Tiger meets the real Tigeron November 30, 2012
In 1998, Tiger Woods came to Africa. And one of the first things he wanted to do was to meet the real Tiger. It was Nick Price who helped convince Woods that he needs to experience the Nedbank Golf Challenge. Then, ever the gracious host, Price went on to beat Woods in the playoff that year for his third and final victory in this event.
But Woods had also heard from Price about the “original Tiger”. Price had even asked him to sign a cap for the “original Tiger”, which he did. But he had yet to meet the man. Then he stepped into the locker room at the Gary Player Country Club and he walked straight into a man wearing the cap he had signed. “Tiger,” he said. “I’m Tiger.”
Tiger Lekhulene has been Price’s longstanding caddie whenever he’s played in South Africa, and he was on the bag for every one of his Nedbank Golf Challenge victories.
